Less than 10 days!!!

This morning I was reading wedding blogs as I do almost every morning and Jessica Lynn over at tying the knot had this post that really caught my eye and heart.

Union

by Robert Fulghum

You have known each other from the first glance of acquaintance to this point of commitment. At some point, you decided to marry.

From that moment of yes, to this moment of yes, indeed, you have been making commitments in an informal way. All of those conversations that were held in a car, or over a meal, or during long walks – all those conversations that began with, “When we’re married”, and continued with “I will” and “you will” and “we will” – all those late night talks that included “someday” and “somehow” and “maybe” – and all those promises that are unspoken matters of the heart. All these common things, and more, are the real process of a wedding.

The symbolic vows that you are about to make are a way of saying to one another, “You know all those things that we’ve promised, and hoped, and dreamed – well, I meant it all, every word.”

Look at one another and remember this moment in time. Before this moment you have been many things to one another – acquaintance, friend, companion, lover, dancing partner, even teacher, for you have learned much from one another these past few years. Shortly you shall say a few words that will take you across a threshold of life, and things between you will never quite be the same."

from one of my favorite phot blogs, bobbi+mike

With less than 10 days left until the big day it was really good to read these words. All the details that I'm stressing about suddenly become a little less important. The most important part of the day is that Ryan and I will be married! I needed to refocus!

Jessica Lynn is also getting married on the 27th! It has been really fun to follow her blog and see where she's at in the planning.

I trust that in the next several days everything will come together and the little things that don't won't matter anyway. :o)

Socks!

In all of my wedding "research," which mainly consists of drooling over wedding photographers blogs, I have seen tons of feet pictures. I've seen Painted toes! Colorful shoes! Funky shoes! Not so typical shoes! (Like a bride wearing converse All-Stars) But some of my favorite pictures have been of socks! Argyle socks to be specific. I love the idea of the groom and groomsmen wearing colorful argyle socks that match the wedding!
See photos below!

I love this idea, but finding green socks that match the bridesmaid's dresses has been very challenging. They just don't make apple/pear green socks for guys. It's always more of a kelley green, a forest green or a sage green. (Who know there were so many greens!)
Well, a couple of days ago I decided to search one more time and guess what?!?!
I found some at Old Navy!!

They are a darker in this picture than they are in real life and they are a little darker than the BM's dresses but I think they will look really cool with the chocolate brown tuxes!

Hopefully the guys won't mind wearing funky socks! :o)

All signs point to . . .

. . . my wedding!  It's not too hard to find the farm where Ryan and I are getting married but I love the idea of having a sign like this on the road to direct people!
I bet my dad could build something like this for me.  I'll just have to ask him!

Too Cute!

Ryan's nephew, Adam, is going to be our ring bearer. I was so excited when I found out that the chocolate tuxes the guys are wearing come in little boys sizes.
Then I was even more excited when I saw this picture!!!
I absolutely love the way little brown Converse shoes look with the brown tux!!!
Now I just have to email Rachel and find out Adam's shoe size!

Amazing Toast

You may have seen this video before, and if you have, it is definitely worth watching again!

This is the most amazing wedding toast I've ever seen!

Don't worry I don't expect this from my wedding party and guests! :o)

Happy Friday!

P.S. The big day is two months from tomorrow!!!!!!!!!

Wedding Day Cards

I love the idea of writing a note to my future husband (aka Ryan) for him to read the morning of our big day. We will be exchanging traditional vows so a note would be the perfect way for me to express how my feelings.

How cute is this card!?!?! The sign says,
"Please marry my mommy today!"
I wonder if I can get Sydney to sit still long enough???
