Less than 10 days!!!

This morning I was reading wedding blogs as I do almost every morning and Jessica Lynn over at tying the knot had this post that really caught my eye and heart.

Union

by Robert Fulghum

You have known each other from the first glance of acquaintance to this point of commitment. At some point, you decided to marry.

From that moment of yes, to this moment of yes, indeed, you have been making commitments in an informal way. All of those conversations that were held in a car, or over a meal, or during long walks – all those conversations that began with, “When we’re married”, and continued with “I will” and “you will” and “we will” – all those late night talks that included “someday” and “somehow” and “maybe” – and all those promises that are unspoken matters of the heart. All these common things, and more, are the real process of a wedding.

The symbolic vows that you are about to make are a way of saying to one another, “You know all those things that we’ve promised, and hoped, and dreamed – well, I meant it all, every word.”

Look at one another and remember this moment in time. Before this moment you have been many things to one another – acquaintance, friend, companion, lover, dancing partner, even teacher, for you have learned much from one another these past few years. Shortly you shall say a few words that will take you across a threshold of life, and things between you will never quite be the same."

from one of my favorite phot blogs, bobbi+mike

With less than 10 days left until the big day it was really good to read these words. All the details that I'm stressing about suddenly become a little less important. The most important part of the day is that Ryan and I will be married! I needed to refocus!

Jessica Lynn is also getting married on the 27th! It has been really fun to follow her blog and see where she's at in the planning.

I trust that in the next several days everything will come together and the little things that don't won't matter anyway. :o)

Hey, once Brett and I walked from Bothel to Woodinville to watch a movie at the theatre. We missed the movie because it took us so long so we just warmed up in the Barnes & Noble. We were scouting out Seattle to see if we should move there to go to Mars Hill Grad School.

I was three months prego at the time! We didn't know enough to know how far it would be and some local told us we could walk there in no time. WHATEVER.

It was a good story, though!
